In recognition of her contribution to the party’s success in the 2007 governorship election, she was appointed the Secretary to the Government of Lagos (SSG) on 18th June 2007.

Some political stakeholders in the state such as the APC stalwart, Hon. Fouad Oki and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abdul Azeez Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor, have taken to social media to react to the death of the former SSG.
