There’s a popular adage that says he who finds a wife has found a good thing. Marriage is indeed a beautiful thing, and almost everyone will love to have a taste of it.

To some, being a second wife is no big deal, but to others, it’s a ‘no no’, irrespective of how you choose to see it.

Here’s a list of some Nigerian female celebrities who got involved in controversial marriages.

Mercy Aigbe

Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe is said to have secretly tied the knots with the popular Yoruba movie marketer, Kazeem Adeoti a.k.a Adekaz, who is married with four children, making the 43-year-old actress a step mother and second wife.

Although, fans of the actress berated her for snatching another woman’s husband, the actress seems unperturbed and have gone on to celebrate her new lover who turned a day older on January 23rd.

Kazeem Adeoti is reportedly not officially divorced from his first wife.

Toyin Lawani

Business mogul and celebrity stylist, Toyin Lawani is one of the female celebrities who married as the second wife.

Toyin Lawani tied the knot with her muse Segun in the presence of family and friends in Lagos.

However, reports have it that Segun as at when he got married to his second wife, hasn’t officially been divorced from his first wife and mother of his two kids.

Regina Daniels

Beautiful actress, Regina Daniels married billionaire Ned Nwoko who already had many wives. The actress, despite the backlash received, has continued to profess her love for the 63-year-old politician, adding that he is the best thing to have happened to her. The marriage has produced a child.

Liz DaSilva

The Togolese-Yoruba actress married her baby-daddy who is Muslim, in an intimate ceremony. Liz became the second wife of the young man who has been identified as Alhaji Olaoye.

The man reportedly has many other wives and Liz is one of them.

Mercy Johnson

Despite living happily (at least that’s what we see on social media) and having four children together,  it is safe to say that the talented actress Mercy Johnson’s marriage to her husband Prince Odi Okojie, drew a lot of attention and controversies.

Mercy Johnson allegedly snatched him from his first wife, Loveth (although Loveth is also married to another man now and has given birth for him). Their wedding was almost cancelled after women of Christ Embassy Church, Lagos reportedly protested against it and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome had to withdraw from officiating the service.

Stella Damasus

Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus was married two times before she fell in love and settled with her colleague’s husband called Daniel Ademinokan, who was married to Doris Simeon.

Although she received backlash from the public for snatching her colleague’s husband, she went on to marry Daniel and they are happily married.
