A boy has allegedly been murdered by a police officer over N20 sachet water in Kogi.
Sources stated that the boy took the sachet water belonging to the policeman from his car to drink before he was killed by the security operative, Daily Post reports.
The boys death led to a protest by the youths in Kabba town on Saturday morning. They barricaded the police station in the area and began to sing war songs.
The State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, confirmed the incident but stated that the police officer carried out his actions while trying to defend himself during an altercation with the victim.
He also promised to carry out further investigation to find out the cause of the murder.
In other news, the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security Defence Corps, NSCDC, has taken into custody a phony, Adeyemo Mufutau, 26, who pretends to have solutions to the spiritual problems of his victims.
Mufutau was paraded alongside his cohort, Oladehi Hezekiah, 27, who lured his victims under the guise of making their business successful.
He revealed that the reason he went into such enterprise was due to economic hardship. Read more
