A 30-year-old man, Abubakar Usman, has been remanded in prison by a magistrate court for allegedly murdering three of his siblings.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Philips Amusan informed the court that the accused murdered his siblings; two minors and an adult on January 13 at Oke-Orogun area of Saki, Oyo State.
The defendant reportedly caused the deaths of 13-year-old Abdullahi Abdulkadri and 11-year-old Ismail Abdulkadri by inflicting wounds on their bodies with a cutlass while 30-year-old Bello Abdulkadri on the same date, time and place was also murdered with a machete.
The prosecutor further stated that the crime contravened Section 316 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000 and is punishable under Section 319 of the law.
The judge, Magistrate Abimbola Amole-Ajimoti said she needed advice from the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions before passing judgement.
She subsequently adjourned the case to March 15, and remanded the accused at Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo.
