'He Has Too Much Baggage' - Ohuabunwa Opposes Orji Kalu's Interest In Becoming Senate President

Following the clamour for quality representation of Abia North at the Senate, a group known as Progressive Ambassadors For Good Governance has urged Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, to join the contest for the senatorial seat in 2023.

This is coming after stakeholders in the zone last week appealed to Senator Ohuabunwa, to make himself available for the senatorial race in 2023.

The group said that the appeal had become necessary due to the compelling need for Abia North which has almost become “voiceless and a comic relief at the 9th Senate” to regain its dignity and voice.

Rising from its meeting in Umuahia, the Progressive Ambassadors for Good Governance said “Abia North needs a vocal and seasoned parliamentarian like Senator Ohuabunwa if Abia North will recover from its current voiceless and inactive mode”.

The group, therefore, urged Senator Ohuabunwa not to turn down the appeal to rescue Abia North from at the Senate come 2023.

According to a press release by the group, Abia North needs a vocal and experienced parliamentarian to get the zone’s share of the national resources; and to consolidate on the achievements of the PDP Led administration of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

The group in the release which was jointly signed by the Abia North Coordinator of the group, Mr. Sampson Kalu ; his Abia South counterpart, Chidiebere Onuoha; and Abia Central Coordinator, Hon. Clement Ikpeazu, vowed to mobilise support for Ohuabunwa.
