Fierce Gun Battle In Idumota As Hoodlums Clash

Rival groups on Friday clashed in the Idumota area of Lagos Island, with many residents and motorists scampering for safety.

The clash began yesterday evening and extended to Friday morning with hoodlums brandishing dangerous weapons such as cutlasses and guns attacking themselves.

People have been warned to stay off the area, while security operatives attached to Rapid Response Squad, RRS, and Task Force try to restore calm.

Naija News gathered that the Idumota Market has been deserted as traders have fled the area.

“Violent attacks accompanied with sporadic shootings in Idumota area of Lagos State as hoodlums from the area clash with hoodlums from Kosoko/Oluwole, Martins and Balogun. The situation in the area is currently tensed,” EONS Intelligence stated.
