Intrigue As Yari Set To Battle Uzor-Kalu, Umahi, Others For Senate Presidency
Former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Sani Abdulahi Shinkafi, has claimed that former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari has been dismissed from the ruling party.

Naija News understands that the politician mentioned this while refuting claims that there is now two other factions of the party in the state.

According to Shinkafi, both Yari and Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa no longer have part with the party.

Shinkafi who was responding to questions from BBC Hausa on Thursday in Gusau maintained that APC is one in the state, stressing that the duo were only deceiving their unsuspecting supporters.

Naija News reports that Shinkafi is one of the contestants for the party’s national chairmanship.

Speaking further about the development, Shinkafi alleged that Yari was banished after he presented his old membership card when he went to the national secretariat of the party to buy an expression form for the national chairmanship contest.

“The national secretariat of the party is fully in support of Governor Matawalle’ group and has always been accord the group all necessary legitimacy,” he said.

He added that the national secretariat of the party does not recognize the so-called factions.

Shinkafi added: “We are surprised by the claim by none members of the party that two other factions of the party exist in Zamfara State led by former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari and senator Kabiru Garbage Marafa.

“When senator Kabiru Garba Marafa conducted his parallel Congresses in the state where did he submit his result? Definitely not the national secretariat of the party”.
