Two APC Chieftains Reportedly Killed, One Abducted In Enugu

A yet to be identified gang of gunmen reportedly killed two members of the All Progressive Congress in Enugu State yesterday.

Reports made available in the public domain have it that the assailants raided the Enugu South Local Government Area office of the APC on Tuesday to disrupt a reconciliation meeting.

Naija News learnt that the State party youth leader, Kelvin Ezeoha and one other respected member were killed during the attack.

It was revealed that the members of the Party from ward III Obeagu Awkunanaw, Enugu South Local Government Area were having a reconciliation meeting when the gunmen, numbering over seven, stormed the venue and carried out the heinous act.

A chieftain of the party in the State had told Daily Post that the gunmen upon their arrival at the meeting venue, opened fire on the party members.

“They killed the immediate past Enugu South Local Government Chairman of the party, now the incumbent State youth leader, Mr Kelvin Ezeoha and one other person. Another party member was kidnapped,” the source said.

Naija News understands that the motive of the gunmen was still unclear at the moment and comment has been made yet by the State Police Command, as regards the incident.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State, Ogheneluemu Sylvester Imonina, has renounced his membership of the party.

Naija News reports that the party chieftain confirmed his withdrawal from the ruling party in a letter he made available to the party on Tuesday, January 18.

Imonina though has refused to make public his reasons for dumping the party, he showed appreciation to every member of the party for the support they gave him while he was still the acting spokesman for the party in the state.

He said in the letter: “I want to use this opportunity to thank the leaders of my ward, LGA, APC, Isoko Nation and members of the party across the state for the support given to me while I contributed my quota to the development of the party.

“To everyone who supported me, I say a big thank you.”
