Buhari Saved Nigeria From Collapse With His Military Background - Ayade

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade on Wednesday praised President Muhammadu Buhari for saving Nigeria from total collapse.

The Governor also alleged that the insecurity plaguing the nation particularly the northern region is part of an international conspiracy to tear Nigeria apart.

He however added that Buhari used the experience of his military background to keep things together and avoid a collapse but according to him, most people don’t understand this fact.

Naija News reports that Ayade made the submissions during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme.

According to him, “Perhaps, if it was not Buhari’s administration with his military background, Nigeria would have collapsed at this stage.

“People don’t know that because if you have been able to avoid risk, nobody can see it because it was avoided. I think the situation could have been worse.”

The Cross River State Governor also urged Nigerians to think beyond party lines and join the government in making the country better for everyone.

“Party lines is what has kept this country backwards. We should think like a country; we should think like a nation,” he submitted.

In other news, presidential Spokesman, Garba Shehu, has mocked corrupt politicians who he said have not been able to enrich themselves under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

In a statement on Tuesday, Shehu stated that these politicians cannot wait for President Buhari to finish his second term in office in 2023 and retire to Daura in Katsina State.

He opined that the President has solidified the fight against corruption and will be peculiarly tough to dismantle after leaving office next year.

The presidential spokesperson added that the corrupt politicians cannot wait to return to the old days where they steal public funds and escape the law.

Shehu noted that the successful repatriation of stolen funds have been used to fund social, unemployment, and welfare programmes in the country and used for infrastructural projects.
