Court Strikes Out Six Remaining Charges Against IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu

The embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has arrived in court for the continuation of his trial before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

As earlier reported by Naija News, the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has filed fresh terrorism allegations against the detained IPOB leader.

The government increased the counts in the initial charge it preferred against Nnamdi Kanu ahead of the resumed trial on Tuesday (today).

The IPOB leader who was facing a seven-count treasonable felony charge, will now enter his fresh plea to a 15-count amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, M. B. Abubakar.

Kanu arrived in court wearing a white designer outfit and then went ahead to exchange pleasantries with his legal team and some other supporters in court.

Another observation is that human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has joined the list of counsels defending the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and led the team into court on Tuesday.

Here are some of the photos from today’s court session.

A video obtained by our correspondent also showed him in high spirits as he talked with his legal team. Watch the video below.
