Court Picks Date To Deliver Judgement On Nnamdi Kanu's Suit Against DSS

Nigerians have taken to social media to react to the fresh terrorism charge filed against the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Naija News reports that the Federal Government filed the amended process before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Monday.

The government increased the counts in the initial charge it preferred against the Biafra agitator.

The IPOB leader who was facing a seven-count treasonable felony charge, will now enter his fresh plea to a 15-count amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, M. B. Abubakar.

FG amended the charge, barely 24 hours to the scheduled commencement of hearing by trial Justice Binta Nyako.

The court had on December 2, fixed 18, 19 and 20 January to hear some pending applications, including the one Kanu filed to be discharged and acquitted.

Reacting to the development, some supporters of the IPOB leader condemned the Muhammadu Buhari government for planning to keep him in detention for long, while the government sympathisers asked the Biafra agitator to face the law and answer for his misdeeds.
