Buhari Appoints Matthew Pwajok As Acting NAMA Boss

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Matthew Pwajok as the new head of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA).

Naija News reports that the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, made this known in a letter signed by the ministry’s Director of Human Resources, S.D. Muhammad.

The letter dated January 12, 2022, was addressed to the immediate past Managing Director of NAMA, Fola Akinkuotu, who left the saddle after the expiration of his tenure on January 7, 2022.

The minister disclosed that Pwajok, who is the Director of Operations, will take over and oversee the affairs of the agency pending the appointment of a substantive head.

I am directed to inform you that the Honorable Minister has approved that Mr. Pwajok Mathew Lawrence, Director of Operations oversee the Office of the Managing Director/ CEO pending the appointment of a substantive MD/CEO.

“You are to kindly accord the director all the necessary support and cooperation he needs while overseeing the office. While thanking you for your usual cooperation, please accept the esteem regards of the honourable minister,” the letter reads.

In a separate notice, Sirika has announced the appointment and redeployment of Directors and Special Assistants to his office, NAMA, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

The minister said officers deployed to his office are to continue to draw their salaries and other entitlements from the agencies of deployment.
