Again, Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Priest In Imo Community

Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Lawman Duruji.

He was reported to have been kidnapped on Saturday at Ehime Mbano local government area while returning from an event.

Apart from him, Naija News gathered the gunmen also abducted a popular businessman known as Ezzybee while he was on his way to watch a local football game.

Ezzybee was abducted on Sunday.

The spate of separate kidnappings which rocked the state over the weekend between Saturday and Sunday also saw the wife of an ex-chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area, Frank Onwunere abducted.

Other persons were similarly kidnapped at Okwelle junction in the Onuimo LGA of the state, and at the Umbomiri junction in the Mbaitoli and Amaraku in the Mbano LGAs of the state.

Speaking on the development when contacted, the spokesperson for the Imo State Police Command, Micheal Abattam, said security operatives were already on the trail of the kidnappers.

He disclosed that one of the victims kidnapped at Ubomiri had already been rescued by the police.

In other news, a man, identified as Saidu Faskari, a resident of Katsina state, has removed his house roofing sheet to sell in order to raise money for his elder son who was abducted by bandits.

Ibrahim Bawa, a local journalist, posted a video clip and photos of the man removing his roofing sheet to raise money.

Bawa in his tweet revealed that the elderly man’s son was kidnapped in December and held captive for 13 days.

Unable to raise the one hundred thousand naira sum, Malam Saidu decided to remove the roof of his house, so as to raise the money.
