Tinubu To Pay Sallah Homage To Buhari In Daura

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC),Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday confirmed he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his presidential ambition.

Naija News reports that the former Lagos State governor disclosed this to State Correspondents after a meeting at the Presidential Villa with Buhari.

While noting that he is yet to publicly disclose his ambition, Tinubu stated that he was still in consultations with various individuals and groups across the country.

Tinubu stated that his ambition to be President has been a life-long ambition, noting that what he did in Lagos in his time as Governor, he has the capacity to do in the entire country.

The APC national leader refused to comment when asked about the presidential ambition of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

On why he would not remain a kingmaker, Tinubu said nothing stops a kingmaker from becoming the king unless he has committed murder.

The National Leader of the APC had arrived the Villa to see the president regarding the national convention of the ruling party slated for February.

Also, it was gathered that the leaders discussed the issues and disagreements in different state chapters of the party that could threaten the conduct of the long-awaited event.

This online newspaper had earlier reported before Tinubu’s confirmation that the former governor had told Buhari about his 2023 presidential ambition.

Sources have disclosed to The Guardian that the former Lagos State governor has also informed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo about his intention to contest for the nation’s number one seat.

This is coming a week after the Director-General, Tinubu Support Groups and former House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin, disclosed that Tinubu will be contesting in the 2023 Presidential election

Sources revealed that President Buhari gave the former Lagos State governor his blessings ahead of the election.

Osinbajo, who served as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General in Tinubu’s eight years administration as Lagos governor, is also rumoured to be planning to take over from Buhari.
