The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced the killing of 950 Boko Haram terrorists, ISWAP fighters and militants in the past seven months.

The acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Bernard Onyeuko, made the remarks while briefing newsmen on the activities of the Armed Forces in Abuja on Thursday.

He said that the Nigerian Army had achieved success during its offensive against militants in the North West and North Central regions between May 2021 and January 2022.

Onyeuko said that under Operation Hadin Kai, the Nigerian Army had successfully killed 537 militants and criminals and arrested 374 others including pirates and their associates.

The defence ministry spokesman said the army had also rescued 452 hostages and recovered 227 firearms, including AK-47 assault rifles and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition. 4, and the recovery of 3,250 stolen animals all under the operation of Operation Hadin Kai.
