President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed his problems with the people of the South East over the call for restructuring.

Speaking during an interview aired on Channels TV on Wednesday night, Buhari said his problem with the South-East is their demand for another state.

The president asked the South East and other regions clamouring for restructuring to define their concept of restructuring and explain the need for new states.

He said, “Those who talk of restructuring; I want them to define what they mean in their own concept of restructuring. Do they want more states? If they want, look at the map of Nigeria, at whose expense?

“I have a problem with people from South-East; they said they wanted another state, as each of the geopolitical zones has six states.

“I said go and look at the map and see how many of the existing states will contribute to other states. That was the last I heard from them on the matter.

Earlier, Buhari had revealed that Nigerians are experiencing hardship and pain under his administration because only 2.5% of the land are being cultivated.

He asked Nigerians to go back to agriculture and stop the dependence on crude oil, noting that agriculture offers more opportunities to the country.

Buhari also urged Nigerians to leverage the opportunity that agriculture offers in order to find a lasting solution to the current economic problem.

However, the Nigerian leader stated that he is absolutely aware of the challenges the citizens face and the struggle to feed under his government.
