I Don’t Think He's The Player You're Looking For - Newcastle Warned Against Signing Ighalo

Relegation-threatened English premier league club, Newcastle has been warned against signing Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo in the January transfer window.

The club which currently sits in the 19th position on the league table needs a striker to replace injured Callum Wilson and boost their chances of winning the relegation battle.

However, the club has been warned by former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper, Paul Robinson to look for another option apart from Ighalo.

Robinson argued that the Super Eagles forward who once played for Watford and Manchester United is not a reliable striker or a top-quality striker that can save the club from relegation.

He went further to submit that the Magpies would be taking a massive risk if they decide to bring the Nigerian international to the King James’ Park.

“I think he’d be a massive risk. He is unreliable and I don’t think Newcastle are in a position where they can take risks,” he told Football Insider.

“Financially, they are in a position where they can go and get a top-quality striker who is less of a risk than he is.

“It’s definitely a position they need to address though given that Wilson is out. To stay up they’ll need a striker to be scoring regularly.

“I just don’t think Ighalo is the player they are looking for.”
