The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has stated that Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State and his predecessor, Senator Rochas Okorocha are not their sponsors.

Naija News reports that the Biafra group disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday issued by its Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful.

The group revealed that its supporters and members in Nigeria and abroad are the sources of its sponsorship, dissociating itself from any politician.

IPOB boasted that no singular individual can be its sponsor, adding that it doesn’t need governor Uzodinma, Senator Okorocha or his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as its sponsor.

The statement reads: “For the umpteenth time, no single individual can sponsor IPOB. We are a global movement and millions of our family members home and abroad remain the source of our sponsorship.

“We have never hidden this fact because we are not a secret or terror organisation. IPOB is well-grounded and we don’t need any Okorocha, Uche Nwosu or Hope Uzodinma or any politician for that matter to sponsor us. We have no dealings with corrupt politicians and people with a questionable source of wealth.”

Meanwhile, Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President, Babafemi Ojudu, has dropped his Governorship ambition in the Ekiti State gubernatorial election.

Ojudu while giving the reason for dropping his ambition noted that the decision would give him the opportunity to mediate and resolve the issues in the All Progressives Congress in the state before the June 18, 2022 election.

He further stated that the division among members of the party could deprive the APC of victory in the 2022 governorship election.

Ojudu disclosed this while discussing with selected members of the party and kinsmen who paid him a visit at his residence in the state capital.
