The Police Command in Rivers state is investigating the death of one, Ifeoma Uzoigwe whose dead body was discovered by her friend inside her batcher house in Mile three area of Port Harcourt in Rivers state.
According to Uloma Godson, a friend of the deceased who discovered her body, Ifeoma’s body was found after she was declared missing for two days.
Speaking with BBC Pidgin, she said; ”I became worried after I didn’t see her on Friday, Saturday, I then send her daughter who stays with me to go and check her mother. She further revealed that her daughter went to the house then came back saying, she knocked countlessly and no one opened it for her. She said she followed the girl back into the house only to see her friend stone dead on the floor.”
She added that she and the caretaker of the house went to Nkpolu-Oroworukwo Divisional police station in Mile three Diobu to report the case, and the body was subsequently deposited in the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital UPTH mortuary.
She said, when she saw her friend, her neck was bent like she was strangled and her face darkened like she was beaten with her belly swollen up.
Uloma noted they are trying to trance late Ifeoma Uzoigwe’s family to inform them about the unfortunate event.
She accused Ifeoma’s boyfriend, Kelechi Nwosu of killing her due to how he terrorized her when she was alive.
Spokesman of the river state police, SP Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident, saying investigations are currently ongiong.
