"Without Shame Or Compassion": Shehu Sani Knocks Osinbajo, Lawan, For Attending Turbaning Of Yusuf Buhari

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has condemned the outing on Saturday which saw many top government officials including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, and many others storm Daura, Katsina State for the turbaning ceremony of Yusuf, President Muhammadu Buhari’s son.

Sani who described the turbaning as ‘unemphatic’ knocked the government officials for overlooking threatening security issues in the area as well as the victims of recent attacks to hold the lavish turbaning ceremony.

As earlier reported by Naija News, Vice President Osinbajo, Senate President Lawan, State Governors, and other top government functionaries were among the dignitaries that stormed Daura, Katsina State on Saturday for the turbaning ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf.

Yusuf was turbaned as the new District Head of Kwasarawa, Duara in Katsina State. He was turbaned as Taliban Daura by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk, today.

President Buhari and his wife, Aisha were both unable to attend the ceremony as they are currently away in Turkey for a summit.

Reacting to the episode, Sani on his micro-blogging page, Twitter condemned the action, noting that it is very insensitive.

He wrote: “Without shame or compassion, they flew over corpses and roofs of bereaved families to attend an ‘unempathetic turbaning.”

The former Senator spoke against the backdrop of the attack by bandits who gruesomely murdered the Katsina State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Dr. Rabe Nasir.

The commissioner was killed last Wednesday in his house located at Fatima Shema Quarters, Katsina.

This was after an earlier barbaric attack on travellers in Sokoto state, where passengers were burnt alive in their vehicle while heading to Kaduna.

While the President’s decision not to visit the scenes has attracted wide condemnation, Buhari opted to dispatch the heads of the nation’s intelligence and security services to Sokoto and Katsina states in response to the recent attacks by bandit terrorists.
