'My Dream Is To Play In Premier League Someday' - Victor Osimhen

Nigerian international and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has reacted to the sack of Gernot Rohr as Super Eagles head coach.

In a post on his social media page on Tuesday, the striker thanked the German tactician for his service to the country and wished Rohr the best in his future endeavours.

Osimhen wrote, “Thank you for everything coach and I wish you all the best.”

Naija News had reported that NFF on Sunday ended rumours as it announced the sacking of the nation’s football team coach.

This came after speculations of the German professional coach being sacked, a development that was debunked in several notifications by the NFF.

However, a statement signed by its General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, said the NFF has sacked Rohr and appointed Augustine Eguavoen as the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles on an interim basis.

The statement reads: “This is with immediate effect, and follows the termination of the relationship with Franco-German Gernot Rohr, who has been in charge of the three-time African champions for the past 64 months, and is Nigeria’s longest-serving manager.”

The statement added, “Following a virtual meeting of the NFF Executive Committee on Sunday, it was decided that Eguavoen will work with Salisu Yusuf (Chief Coach); Paul Aigbogun (Assistant Coach); Joseph Yobo (Assistant Coach); Dr Terry Eguaoje (Assistant Coach) and Aloysius Agu (Goalkeeper Trainer).

“Former Nigeria captains Augustine ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu and Garba Lawal have been appointed to provide technical and ambassadorial support for the crew.”
