Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the mother of the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State.

Naija News reports that this latest incident comes a few weeks after the state Commissioner for Environment, Adewale Omofaiye, escaped being kidnapped by gunmen.

According to SaharaReporters, the gunmen invaded the residence of Madam Seriya Raji in the Nagazi area of Okene in Kogi State around 8pm on Monday and whisked her to an unknown location.

A resident of the area told the news platform that the kidnappers gained access to her room through the mosque beside her house.

Meanwhile, the Abia State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the killing of its personnel on Monday by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

The incident according to reports, happened in the noon hour of yesterday very close to the state police headquarters in Omaha.

Giving details of the attack, the state Commissioner of Police, Mrs Janet Agbede, informed that the bandits who attacked the state police headquarters came in military camouflage and gun truck.

Agbede in a statement through the Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna, explained that the gunmen opened fire on policemen on guard duty at Mopol 28, beside the state police headquarters at Bende road.
