A follower of the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, Aminu Danbuba, has revealed that Yari may dump the All Progressives Congress for the Peoples Democratic Party if he loses the national chairmanship of the party.
Danbuba in an interview with Daily Post said he would not be surprised if Yari dumps the ruling party for the main opposition party.
He further stated that the former Governor of Zamfara has not made his intention known to his followers but there are indications that he might dump the party.
According to Danbuba, “He is our political leader, and whichever party he decamps to, we must follow him.”
He added that Yari has an issue to settle with the national headquarters of the party over the imposition of leadership in the State’s chapter of the party.
Danbuba claimed that the former Governor would not want to accept defeat over his faction’s loss at the Federal High Court sitting in Gusau, the State capital.
He commended Yari for approaching the court on the case, adding that he did it to defend democracy in the State.
Danbuba noted that if people are silent over the issue of democracy, the system would not strive in the country.
