President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his condolences to the United States of America over the devastating tornadoes rocking the country.

Buhari sympathized with the United States over the natural disaster which had caused deaths in over six states.

The president’s spokesman, Femi Adesina said that the statement was a reaction to the catastrophe being televised around the globe since Friday.

The statement reads: “The destruction of whole towns, flattening of houses, schools, hospitals, businesses and other social infrastructure on a scale never seen before was deeply saddening.”

 “our deepest sympathies go to all those affected, as well as the government and the American people.”

The president also called on Nigerians to pray for the United States.

In other news, the new National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu has set a tall order for his party ahead of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

Ayu on Sunday said the PDP will win at least 25 states and a majority of the seats in the National Assembly.

He made the declaration at a Thanksgiving Service/Reception held in his honour at the Aper-Aku Stadium in Makurdi, the Benue State capital following his inauguration on Friday. Read more
