President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the killing of the Katsina State Commissioner of Science and Technology, Dr. Rabe Nasir.

The President who said the development has caused him deep anguish ordered all relevant agencies to ensure the killers are found and brought to book.

Naija News recalls suspected bandit terrorists, on Thursday, killed the Katsina State Commissioner at his residence.

It was learnt that the terrorists murdered the commissioner inside his home located in Fatima Shema Estate in Katsina metropolis.

According to reports, Nasir was stabbed in the stomach in his sitting room while his body was dragged into a toilet where it was locked.

Reacting to the unfortunate incident, Buhari in a statement on Thursday evening titled “PRESIDENT BUHARI CONDEMNS KATSINA COMMISSIONER’S MURDER, SAYS KILLERS MUST BE FOUND” which was signed and made available to newsmen by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu said Nasir’s killing is “a heinous and condemnable act, adding that there is no place for such violence in our country.”

The President said he is deeply anguished by the tragic killing of this up-and-coming leader who had served his community, state, and the nation with utmost diligence.

“My thoughts are with the bereaved family,” the President added.

He directed the law enforcement agencies to do a thorough investigation and bring to justice all those who are behind the crime.

In other news, bandit terrorists have killed at least nine worshippers in Ba’are village in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State.

Naija News learned that the terrorists invaded the village in the early hours of Wednesday, shooting sporadically into the air to scare away residents.

A few minutes later, the gunmen were said to have stormed a mosque in the area and shot dead the worshippers who were performing their morning prayers.

The bandits also injured at least ten worshippers, who are currently receiving treatment at the Kontagora General Hospital in Minna.

Confirming the incident to the Nation, Niger State Commissioner of Police, Monday Bala Kuryas, said security personnel have been drafted to the area to secure lives and properties.
