Ex-BBNaija Housemate, Maria Tests Positive For COVID-19

A former housemate in the Big Brother Naija reality show, Maria, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Naija News reports that the reality star, who is on vacation in Ghana, made this known in a post on her Instagram page on Tuesday.

The former air hostess stated that she initially tested negative for the virus while in Dubai, but tested positive upon arriving in Ghana, also disclosing the troubles she had during the tests.

Maria revealed she had been placed in quarantine and would be staying in the West African country till she recovers from the virus.

She appreciated her fans for showing concern about her well-being, urging them to obey all COVID-19 protocol measures and not to take COVID-19 for granted.

She wrote: “My heartbeats, I heard you were all concerned about me. Thank you so much for all your kind messages. Unfortunately, I have tested positive for COVID-19 but I can reassure you, I am doing really well.

“I initially had a negative result from Dubai less than 24 hours of coming into Ghana. Upon arrival in Ghana, I tested positive and was asked to quarantine.

“I got a different doctor that tested me negative again. We had so many back and forth results of positives and negatives. But finally, I have tested positive.

“Please, do not take COVID-19 for granted, and don’t try to be as stubborn as me always. I have been placed in the best possible care and receiving treatment. I will be in Ghana until I am fully recovered and tested negative. I love you all and cannot wait to get back to work.”

Recall that the reality star was detained in Ghana for flouting the Covid-19 laws.

A Twitter user identified as Gift in a post on her account alleged that Maria was held in detention by the Ghanaian authority against her will.

The social media user claimed that Maria was allegedly being extorted over a fake covid-19 result and kept in quarantine.

According to Gift, the BBNaija housemate was held in a stinking hostel even when doctors confirmed that she is Covid-19 negative.
