Succession: Presidency Reacts To Buhari's Meeting With APC Governors

The presidency has submitted that despite the many security challenges facing Nigeria, the country remains a destination of choice for foreign investments.

The special adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on media and publicity, Femi Adesina stated that Nigeria has other attractions that will make the investors ignore the security challenges.

He spoke on Monday against the background of the President’s outing and activities at the recently concluded Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Adesina submitted that investors look and see beyond the security challenges plaguing Nigeria and understand that the challenges won’t last forever.

“Investors see beyond now. They would know that Nigeria has security challenges but is that all there is to Nigeria? By no means. That is not all there is to Nigeria,” he added.

“There are other things to Nigeria which attract investments. They will look at those things and they will come in despite the security challenges, knowing that the security challenges won’t last forever,” he explained during an interview with Channels TV.

Meanwhile, troops of the Nigerian Army have discovered and disarmed four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on the Orlu-Owerri road in Imo State.

The IEDs were allegedly planted by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its security arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

A statement on Monday signed and made available to Naija News by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Onyema Nwachukwu said that the bombs were designed to harm unsuspecting motorists and other road users.

He however added that the troops who were on a reinforcement mission to Mgbidi/Awo Mmama detected the IEDs and successfully disabled them without any casualties.
