Lagos PDP Chairman Not Suspended - Party Gives Update On Crisis

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled fifteen members from the Kebbi State chapter of the party after finding them guilty of anti-party activities.

Naija News understands that the affected members were first expelled at the state level before their expulsion was ratified at the national level.

A statement on Monday to this effect, signed and made available to Naija News by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan said the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party affirmed the suspension of the affected members.

He noted that the decision is in line with the provision of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended).

The statement urged “all members in Kebbi state to remain calm, united and focused, and not allow any agents of destabilization to derail our party in the collective quest to rescue the state as well as the nation from the misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

The expelled members are;
1.Garba Abubakar Besse
2.Ibrahim Usman Manzo
3.Muhd Ruwa R.K

Meanwhile, the National Leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) says it is yet to receive the certified true copy of the court judgement relating to the leadership crisis in the Kano State chapter of the party.

This was made known on Monday by the National Secretary of the APC Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) Senator John James Akpanudoedehe.

He added however that they have applied for a copy of the judgment which will then enable them to take appropriate and informed actions.

Naija News reports that the APC in Kano State has been embroiled in a leadership tussle which has factionalized the party, eventually resulting in the conduct of parallel primaries.

A faction is loyal to the State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje while the other faction is led by former Kano state governor and Senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau, and his counterpart representing Kano North, Jubrin Barau.
