A Nigerian father has shared a letter he wrote to his son’s school before withdrawing him for being bullied.

The man identified as Mike Ekunno posted a letter on Instagram he wrote in 2018 to the Federal Government College, Abuja after constant bullying within the school premises.

Ekunno said he had to withdraw his son from the school without writing his third term exams so the boy could stay alive.

He wrote: ”Copy of my letter to the school authority over the bullying of my son. I finally had to withdraw him without sitting for his promotional exam to keep him alive.”

The letter reads in part: “My son, Ifesinachi, 10, is an intelligent is a bold and a free-spirited boy. His mother and I are shocked at the transformation of his personality since enrolling in your school at the start of this academic session. He has suddenly turned timorous, scared and fidgety, apart from losing about 10kg from his entry level of 50kg…”

This post is coming after the death of 12 years old Sylvester Oromoni who was allegedly beaten up by some seniors in the school and given an unknown substance to consume.

The incident has led to nationwide rage with Nigerians calling  for justice. The school, Dowen College, where the incident took place has been shut down by the Lagos State Government. No arrest has being made yet concerning the alleged assault and murder.
