Omicron: FG Reviews COVID-19 Protocol For International Travel

Following the discovery of the Omicron COVID-19 variant in Nigeria, the Federal Government has reviewed its international travel protocol.

Naija News reports that the revised travel protocol was issued by the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 and signed by its chairman, Boss Mustapha.

In a statement on Friday, Mustapha stated that the travel protocol which takes effect on December 5, is based on science, national experience, and global developments.

The PSC chairman stated that outbound travellers are required to provide either valid evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19 or negative PCR test results within 48hrs from the time of boarding.

Sylvester Oromoni: Lagos Govt Closes Dowen College Indefinitely

Following the death of 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni, the Lagos State Government has directed that Dowen College, Lekki be shut down indefinitely.

Naija News had earlier reported that Sylvester Junior, a 12-years-old boy was allegedly beaten to death by his fellow students in the school for refusing to join a cult.

Perrie, an uncle to Oromoni in a post on his Twitter account disclosed that his cousin until his death was subjected to bullying, torture and harassment.

The school denied the allegations, claiming that the deceased sustained injuries while playing football and was given immediate medical attention by the school’s resident nurse, claims the family have denied.

Certificate Forgery: Kaduna Govt Releases Names Of Sacked Teachers (Full List)

Governor Nasir El-Rufai-led government of Kaduna State has released the names of the 233 primary school teachers sacked over certificate forgery.

Naija News reported that the Kaduna government had announced the dismissal of the teachers for presenting fake certificates.

Speaking with reporters in Kaduna on Thursday, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Tijjani Abdullahi, had said that the sacked teachers would be made to face the full weight of the law.

Abdullahi maintained that there was no going back in the conduct of competency tests for public school teachers in the state.

Two Killed, 50 Kidnapped As Bandit Terrorists Attack Kaduna Village

Residents of Unguwan Gimbiya village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have suffered a major attack at the hands of bandit terrorists.

Naija News reports that the bandits, who have been tagged as terrorists, stormed the village in Sabo, the outskirts of the state on bikes in the early hours of Friday.

During the invasion, the criminals killed two residents and kidnapped over fifty others.

According to a resident of the area, the terrorists invaded thirteen homes and robbed them of their valuable belongings.

Nnamdi Kanu: Malami Is The Most Confused AGF Nigeria Has Ever Had, Buhari Should Sack Him – Former Senate President

A former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara has demanded that President Muhammadu Buhari should sack the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

According to Wabara, Malami is an embarrassment to the administration of President Buhari and doesn’t deserve to hold the position.

Wabara spoke against the backdrop of a recent submission by Malami that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, cannot be pardoned when he hasn’t been convicted by a competent court of law.

Appeal Court Frees Prophet Sotitobire, Alfa Babatunde Of Kidnap Charges

The Court of Appeal sitting in Akure the capital of Ondo State on Friday set aside the judgment of the Ondo state high court that sentenced the founder of the Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Alfa Babatunde to life imprisonment.

Recall that the high court sitting in Akure on Tuesday, 6th October 2020, sentenced Babatunde Alfa to life imprisonment in the case of a child that went missing, Gold Kolawole in his church last year.

The prophet was found guilty alongside five others on two-count charges bordering on kidnapping, aiding and abetting to kidnap preferred against them.

Kano: Why APC Is In Crisis – Kwankwaso

The former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has stated that the crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress in Kano State did not come to him as a surprise.

According to Kwankwaso, the Governor of the state, Abdullahi Ganduje is resposible for the crisis due to his alleged selfish attitude.

The Peoples Democratic Party chieftian in an interview with BBC said he knew there would be crisis in the APC in the state due to the internal wranglings.

Include Miyetti Allah, FUNAM On List Of Terrorists – Ortom Tells Buhari

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari-led government for declaring bandits as terrorists in the country.

Having commended the government for the bold act, Ortom charged the Federal Government to also include Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN and Fulani Nationality Movement, FUNAM on the list of terrorist groups in Nigeria.

According to the governor, most bandit terrorists arrested are brewed from the Fulani organizations, hence they should be declared as bandits.

‘Hypocrites’- IPOB Slams Northern Elders, Others For Opposing Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has described the opposition of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) and other northern groups to the release of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, as “hypocritical and shameful”.

In a statement on Friday released by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, the pro-Biafra group said that the release of its leader is for the benefit of the country and in the interest of peace.

IPOB described the NEF, the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) and others as inconsequential groups who “shameful displayed their stupidity and arrogance.”

‘Release Igboho Immediately’ – Yoruba Group Stages Protest In Ibadan

A Yoruba group, the Agbekoya Farmers Society, have demanded the unconditional release of the Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho.

Naija News reports that Sunday Igboho is currently in the custody of the authorities of Benin Republic following his arrest while trying to escape to Germany through the country.

The Yoruba Nation agitator has since been slammed with several offences by the Nigerian government which include alleged arms smuggling and alleged terrorism.

In a statement on Thursday by its spokesman, Olatunji Bandele, Agbekoya stated it embarked on a protest in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital to ask the federal government to drop all charges levelled against Igboho.
