The former lawmaker representing Irepodun/Olurunda/Osogbo/Orolu Federal Constituency of Osun State, Lasun Yusuf, on Thursday declared his intention to contest in the 2022 governorship election in the state.

The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in his statement stated that nobody can stop him from contesting in the electoral process.

Lasun alleged that the All Progressives Congress didn’t win the governorship election in 2018, which saw Adegboyega Oyetola emerge as the winner.

The APC chieftain who lost out to Oyetola in the 2018 APC primaries, stated this while speaking with newsmen at the APC National Secretariat, in Abuja, on Thursday.

Lasun was at the National Secretariat of the party to purchase his Governorship expression of interest and nomination forms.

He further stated that the current Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, was compensated for his current position because of the role he played in the Osun APC primary.

Lasun said, “Nobody born of a woman can do to me what they did to me in 2018. My party, the APC did not win the Osun State Governorship election.”

This is coming days after Leaders of the party in Ede South/Ede North/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State warned that no aspirant from the federal Constituency should contest in the Osun APC primary against the Governor.

The party leaders at the press conference disclosed that any party member from the federal Constituency who contests with the governor would be rejected by the party and they would not have their support in any form whatsoever.
