'I Want To Leave Emirates' - Nketiah Rejects New Arsenal Contract Offer

Arsenal and England striker, Eddie Nketiah has rejected a new contract offer from the North London club.

Naija News reports that the 22-year-old was said to have rejected the latest contract offer due to his lack of first-team opportunities.

Nketiah has not kicked the ball in the Premier League this season and this has made the England U21 international consider leaving the Emirates stadium.

Following this development, Nketiah will become a free agent after the expiration of his current deal at the end of the season.

The striker will also be free to talk to any club and sign a pre-contract with such club from January 2022.

Nketiah’s decision was said to not be motivated by finances, but Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has publicly said he wants the striker to stay.

Recall that Nketiah netted five goals in 19 appearances while on loan with Leeds two seasons ago.

The Arsenal academy graduate has reportedly received several loan offers from Championship clubs since returning to the Emirates.

Clubs such as Bristol City, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday all held talks over a short-term deal for the talented striker.
