‘He Seemed So Full Of Life’ – Burna Boy Recounts Last Moment With Influential Louis Vuitton Designer, Virgil Abloh

Nigerian international singer and Grammy award winner Burna Boy has mourned late Virgil Abloh, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton and the first African-American to head a French luxury fashion house.

The French holding company that owns Louis Vuitton disclosed on Sunday that Abloh had passed away earlier that day after several years’ of private struggle with Cancer, Naija News reports

He died at age 41. 

Announcing news of his death, French holding company wrote;

“We are all shocked after this terrible news,” Virgil was not only a genius designer, a visionary; he was also a man with a beautiful soul and great wisdom.

“The LVMH family joins me in this moment of great sorrow, and we are all thinking of his loved ones after the passing of their husband, their father, their brother or their friend.” LVMH boss Bernard Arnault said.

Reacting to the development, Burna Boy took to his Instagram stories to recount his last conversations with Virgil Abloh, revealing he was so filled with life.

He added that Virgil Abloh was supposed to be the creative director of his next album. 

“Me, @RONAMI and @Virgilabloh spent hours on the phone talking about the creative direction for this next album. We should have been talking about how he was doing. He seemed so full of life. He was supposed to be the creative director of my next album. I don’t even know where to start now. RIP You Legend.”
