Three Killed, One Injured In Ogun Fatal Road Crash

Five persons were reportedly involved in a fatal road crash on Sunday morning around Saapade Bridge, Ogere area of Ogun State.

The accident as confirmed to newsmen by the Ogun Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), happened between a Mack truck with registration number, SMK499XU and a Nissan car marked GH598LND.

The spokesperson of the FRSC in the state, Florence Okpe, disclosed that three people died in the crash while one person sustained injury, Naija News reports.

Okpe attributed the causes of the crash to route violation (one-way drive) and excessive speed.

She said, “The injured victim was taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical attention. Effort is ongoing to remove one of the trapped deceased while the other 02 dead bodies were deposited at FOS morgue.”

“The Sector Commander, FRSC Ogun, Corps Commander Ahmed Umar, cautioned motorists from violating traffic rules and regulations because of the dangers involved.

“He also commiserated with the family of the victims, asking them to contact FRSC Ogere for more information about the crash,” the FRSC mouthpiece added.

In another news, a 78-year-old man has allegedly hacked his 94-year-old brother to death in Ogun.

The assailant identified as Moshood Habibi was apprehended by the state police on November 24.

Habibi, reportedly visited the deceased, Salisu Surakatu in his house at Kara Ewumi Village, Mowe where they got into an argument over a landed property.

The argument allegedly got heated which led to the murder of Surakatu by his brother.

One Aminu Tajudeen who claimed to be the son of the deceased reported the incident to the police at Mowe Divisional Headquarters which led to the arrest of the suspect.
