The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied the allegation that its operatives are killing and brutalizing some people suspected to be Biafra agitators.

Specifically, the DSS on Sunday denied allegations that its operatives target suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) or its militant wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN), and force false confessions out of them.

The DSS spokesperson, Peter Afunanya was quoted to have debunked the accusations in reaction to the allegation published in a report by an online news platform.

“There is no iota of truth in the so called exclusive. The DSS does not force out confessions from suspects and has not done so in the matter of IPOB and ESN,” he was quoted by The Nation to have said on a Whatsapp platform.

In other news, details have emerged on how notorious bandit terrorist leader Yellow Magaji, popularly known as Arushe, was gunned down by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

Naija News recalls that the terrorist activities had for the past one week constituted a serious security threat and unnecessary nuisance to innocent travellers on the Abuja-Kaduna road.

The criminals had killed a former Director of the FCT, abducted his police orderly and many others during last Sunday’s attack on the highway.

Following the attacks, special forces were deployed to track down the bandits.

In a statement, the Kaduna Police Command said Yellow Magaji who lead the bandits to attack the highway was gunned down at Sir Joe Guest House located at 8, Sajo street, Unguwan Maigero area of Sabon Tasha in Chikun LGA.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, Muhammed Jalinge, said when the police arrived at the hotel, the bandits started shooting sporadically as they made to escape.

Jalinge said while Arushe’s partner, Yellow Ashana, escaped with bullet wounds, he was taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead.
