Ikoyi Building Collapse: Akpabio Visit Tinubu In Lagos

The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, on Thursday, visited the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress Ahmed Bola Tinubu, at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos.

In a statement released on Friday, Akpabio said he was in the South-West state to commiserate with Tinubu over the Ikoyi building collapse incident which claimed over 40 lives.

The statement added that the minister also used the opportunity to welcome Tinubu back to the country from his successful medical trip abroad.

The former Akwa Ibom governor prayed to God to grant the ex-Lagos governor good health in abundance.

He said: “I was at the residence of the Leader of our great party, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, on a condolence visit over the recent building collapse in Lagos, where several Nigerians lost their lives.

“I prayed for the repose of the souls of those who died in the unfortunate incidence.

“I also used the visit to welcome our leader back from his successful medical trip abroad and prayed to God to grant him good health in abundance.”

In other news, a former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday, stated that the next recruit of Boko Haram will come from out-of-school children in Nigeria.

Obasanjo made this claim while addressing participants at the presidential youth mentorship retreat held at Youth Development Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to Obasanjo, no one needs an oracle to know that the 14 million out of school children would turn to Boko Haram recruits in the next ten years.

Obasanjo further stated that the unity of the country is important, adding that he would clamour for the unity of the country throughout his life.
