Kidnappers Of Ondo Muslim Cleric Demand N10 Million Ransom

The Eze Ndigbo of Ifon in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Chief Donatus Okereke, has been abducted by suspected kidnappers.

The whereabouts of Okereke who is a popular businessman in Ifon community is still unknown.

A community leader and Secretary to the Regent of Ifon, Olaniyi Eni Olotu, disclosed that the gunmen shot into the air before whisking him into the bush.

Olotu stated that both the Police and Amotekun had been contacted over the incident.

According to the community leader, the Igbo Chief’s vehicle was ransacked as large sums of money was reportedly taken away.

Speaking to newsmen, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Funmilayo Odunlami, said the vehicle of Okereke was seen in the middle of the road.

The police spokesman added that his number had not been going through since the incident occurred on Monday.

It’s actually a case of suspected kidnapping because bullet shells were said to have been found where they saw his vehicle

“The DPO within the axis has mobilised his men to search for him,” he disclosed.

Recall that the monarch of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi was killed by gunmen last year.
