Baba Suwe: Damola Olatunji Reveals Who Started Skit Making In Nigeria

Hollywood actor, Damson Idris has joined the entire Nollywood industry to mourn comic actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe.

Naija News earlier reported that the shocking news of the actor’s death was announced on Monday by his son, Adesola Morenikeji Omidina, who posted it via his official Instagram page.

Though the cause of his sudden death wasn’t disclosed, Baba Suwe was believed to have been battling illness for a long time before his demise.

Baba Suwe was born on August 22, 1958 (63 years), in Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria.

Reacting to the sad news, Damson Idris took to the microblogging platform, Twitter to share a photo of the late actor, penning an emotional tribute.

He also described the late Baba Suwe as an icon who taught him comedy.

He wrote; “Rest in Peace Baba Suwe. A Nigerian icon and the man who first taught me about comedy. God bless”

In a related development, Naija News reports that Adesola in a post on his Instagram account disclosed that the burial rite of his father will commence at his residence in Elepe, on Thursday by 10 am.

He further stated that the final funeral ceremony will be announced later by the family of the veteran actor.

Adesola in the post on his account wrote, “Burial Rite of Babatunde Omidina “Babasuwe” will commence at his residence (Elepe) @ Babasuwe’s House on Thursday 11/25/21 @ 10 am prompt. Age: 63 years

“The final Funeral ceremony will be announced later! Survived by: Children, Grandchildren, Mother and family! Signed by: Adesola Omidina. (For the Omidina Family). 11/23/21”
