Notorious Bandit Killed In Kaduna

Some unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have reportedly killed at least four people in Barawa, a community in the Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The assailants were said to have raided the community at about 9:00 pm on Sunday, November 21.

Naija News learnt that the gunmen who stormed the town shooting sporadically carted away foodstuffs belonging to residents, took away their sheep and other valuable items during the raid.

A source who reportedly spoke on the development said nobody was kidnapped during the attack but three men and an elderly woman were killed in the process.

The affected community is said to be barely 10 kilometres from Katsina metropolis. The source further disclosed that those killed in the attack have since been buried.

According to the source, the number of casualties recorded in the attack may increase thereafter since a lot of people were severely wounded in the attack.

However, security in the area has been reportedly beefed up and the state government has stepped in with relief items to assuage the pains afflicted on the masses.

Meanwhile, a military officer has been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in Imo State following an attack on some soldiers in Awo Mmamma in the Oru East Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the military men in reprisal invaded the community and allegedly burnt a hotel, cars, houses and shops.

The incident has seen residents of the affected community flee as soldiers took over the community, Naija News reports.

A source that spoke with Punch on the incident said, “some hoodlums attacked some soldiers at Ishieke junction in Awo Mmamma and killed one of them. They zoomed off towards Ihiala in Anambra State. Later soldiers invaded the area and caused havoc in the area by setting a hotel, cars, houses and stalls on fire.”
