Nigerian musician and philanthropist, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has taken a fresh oath on his donation to orphanage homes earlier.

Recall that the DMW boss earlier pledged a donation of ₦250m to children in orphanages.

The huge sum, Naija News understands was a total of donations he (Davido) received from friends, colleagues in the entertainment industry and fans purposely to mark his birthday this year plus his own addition.

The massive donations came in after Davido posted a video of himself asking his gang members to send him money.

Within a few minutes, the singer received a massive donation of which he subsequently set up a five-man committee to monitor the progress of the disbursement of the funds to the beneficiaries.

However, there have been insinuations that the huge amount Davido pledged to give the orphanage will not get to the real beneficiaries due to the corrupt practices of welfare officers.

A tweep identified as @soibomari had earlier said that “I told mum what Davido did and I’ve never seen her revolt so passionately against something. She said the money won’t get to the children because welfare officers steal all.

“I hate Nigeria. She said it’s so bad that nurses never want to leave welfare homes when they’re posted there.”

Replying to the netizen on Monday, Davido said, “I will personally make sure this doesn’t occur! I put that on my life!” (sic).

Meanwhile, veteran Nigerian singer Baba Froyo, born Friday Igwe has revealed how Davido refused to help him in his time of need.

He said that it was quite hilarious if people like him who are popular was ignored then it would be ridiculous to believe orphanages with unknown individuals would be offered help.
