ISWAP Killed Gen Zirkusu Two Weeks After His Sister’s Death – Family

A family member of Brig Gen Dzarma Zirkusu, who was killed by Islamic State West African Province terrorists last week has noted that he was killed by the terrorists two weeks after the family buried his immediate elder sister, Afiniki Zurkusu.

According to SaharaReporters, Afiniki treated lung cancer at the University Teaching hospital, Ibadan for six months before her demise in October.

It was reported that the murdered General was in attendance at the funeral of his sister which was held in October.

A family member of General Zirkusu who spoke on condition of anonymity disclosed that he returned to his operational base in Chibok just two weeks ago.

The family member said, “We were together here with him (Gen. Zurkusu) in Yola at Jambutu when Aunty Afiniki died.

“We know, as a military officer, he had signed for it. But he didn’t sign to die this way. Why would the Nigerian Army be filled with elements that are leaking information about the movements of their commanders and troops to terrorists?

“His movement was leaked. At the appropriate time, the world will know that someone within, called the terrorists to let them know about Zurkusu’s movements.

“Now that they’ve killed him, let them live forever, and never die”

Naija News had earlier reported that ISWAP fighters in an attack on a military base killed four soldiers including General Zirkusu.
