Popular Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju, says the only way Nnamdi Kanu can be quickly released is the total compliance of the sit-at-home order by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Naija News reports that Kanu is facing an amended seven-count charge of terrorism and treasonable felony preferred against him by the Federal Government.

The IPOB leader has made three court appearances since June after security operatives brought him back from Kenya.

Kanu’s trial has now been adjourned until the 19th and 20th of January 2022, while the IPOB leader has been remanded in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

Reacting to the adjournment of the Biafra agitator’s trial, Adeyanju said the lockdown of the South East for two weeks was one way to press for the quick release of Kanu.

The activist in the post on his social media account on Saturday wrote: “If the Sit-At-Home in the SE is 100% effective and everywhere is on lockdown for 2-weeks, Nnamdi Kanu will be released soon. Once something is paining them so much, press their neck more.”
