1. Fourteen Suspects Responsible For Raid On Justice Odili’s Abuja Residence Arrested

Fourteen suspects said to have been responsible for the raid on the Abuja home of Justice Mary Odili have been arrested by the Nigeria Police.

This was disclosed on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Mba while parading them at the Force Headquarters Annex, Garki, Abuja.

He said seven others, including two (2) persons believed to be personnel of the Nigeria Army are still at large and security operatives are in pursuit.

One of the arrested persons includes a fake Chief Superintendent of Police identified as Lawrence Ajojo who reportedly led the team.

According to Mba, those arrested are criminals from various professional backgrounds including public service, business, law, journalism, banking, amongst others.

2. ‘I’m A Victim Of Electoral Fraud’ – Andy Uba Rejects Outcome Of Anambra Election

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded Anambra governorship election, Senator Andy Uba, has rejected the outcome of the exercise.

Uba rejected the governorship election results in a statement released on Thursday by the spokesperson of his Campaign Organization, Ambassador Jerry Ugokwe.

Recall that the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Chukwuma Soludo, who won 19 out of 21 Local Council in the state, was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC candidate accused INEC, security operatives, and the Anambra state government of engaging in widespread electoral fraud and manipulation which saw him lose the poll.

Uba stated that the election was characterized by widespread irregularities, intimidation, and voter suppression in order to allow APGA and Soludo to win the exercise.

3. Despite Increase In Gas Price, Buhari Says Nigeria Has Made Huge Investment In The Sector

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday in Paris, France, assured investors that investment in gas remains a top priority for Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the president stated that investments are needed in the sector considering the huge benefits in terms of returns and utility.

Receiving the Chief Executive Officer of Total, Patrick Pouyanne, President Buhari noted that Nigeria had made huge investments in gas.

Buhari stated that Nigeria will continue to create enabling opportunities for expansion, while looking at improving alternatives for renewable energy.

The President said Nigeria remains mindful of the target of zero emission by 2060, and had already started putting in place necessary natural structures that will ensure balance and safety for citizens and the global community.

4. 2023: Nigeria Not Only Negotiable, Evidently Dying – Pa Adebanjo

The leader of the Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo, has said that Nigeria is evidently retrogressing and might soon die due to the problems facing it.

Adebanjo asserted that some of the ways to address the challenges facing the country are restructuring, devolution of powers, fiscal federalism and state police.

The Afenifere leader stated these on Thursday during a press conference held at the Wheat Baker Hotel in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

He pointed out that his group will be leading the Yoruba people to demand restructuring of the country before the 2023 general elections.

5. Nnamdi Kanu: IPOB Issues Directive To Police Over Sit-At-Home Order

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has asked security operatives to arrest anyone seen enforcing the cancelled Sit-at-home order.

According to a statement released on Thursday by its spokesman, Emma Powerful, IPOB reiterated its earlier position that the sit-at-home protest had been called off.

The outlawed group said those enforcing the order in the South East are criminals and are working with the intention of blackmailing its members.

IPOB advised South East residents to disregard any report saying that the order is still effective, urging them to go about their normal businesses on Mondays.

6. Mary Odili: ‘I Don’t Know You’ – Malami Distances Self From Arrested Suspect

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has again denied his involvement in the invasion of the Abuja residence of Justice Mary Odili.

Naija News earlier reported that the Nigeria Police had paraded fourteen suspects behind the illegal raid on the home of the Supreme Court judge on October 29, 2021.

Speaking to reporters when he was paraded, one of the suspects arrested over the raid, Lawrence Ajojo, said he is a consultant to Malami and a fake Chief Superintendent of Police.

But in a statement on Thursday signed by his spokesman, Umar Gwandu, the Justice minister distance himself from the arrested fake Police officer.

The AGF also asked the suspect to present proof that shows that he worked as his consultant, describing his confessional statement as “an orchestrated attempt to stir unnecessary controversies and public apprehension”.

7. Insecurity: COAS Gives Fresh Directive To Troops On Bandits, Kidnappers Terror Attacks

Troops of the Nigerian Army have been directed to deal decisively with kidnappers, bandits and terrorist groups causing unrest in the country.

Naija News reports that the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya gave the directive on Wednesday during an operational tour of the Army Headquarters 1 Division in Kaduna State.

The COAS who was received and conducted round Forward Operational Bases Sabo Birnin and Rigassa by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Kabiru Mukhtar, admonished the troops to take seriously their operational engagements and training.

The statement made available to newsmen on Thursday by the Army Director of Public Relations, Onyema Nwachukwu read; “Describing emerging security threats as real, the COAS directed the troops to decisively deal with bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements threatening the security of the nation.

8. Why Millions Of Nigerian Youths Are Unemployed – Buhari Govt

The Federal government has revealed the reason millions of Nigerian graduates do not have jobs.

The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Arch. Sonny Echono, spoke on the unemployment rate in the country at a National Conference on Technical and Vocational Education and Training, TVET on Thursday in Abuja.

He revealed that the reason for jobless youths in the country was because they lacked the skill capacity to get and keep a job.

He also made it clear that the federal and state government have made a great effort to reverse the situation by establishing universities of technology, polytechnics and college of education to help in acquiring market-relevant skills.

9. Ikpeazu Speaks On Dumping PDP For APC After Senate President’s Visit To Abia

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has again pledged his allegiance to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Ikpeazu, who was responding to a call by the President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan to join the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), said he (Ikpeazu) is a bishop with many disciples in the opposition party.

Naija News reports that Sen. Lawan was in Abia State on Thursday for the official commissioning of Enyimba Automated Shoe Company at Obikabia, Obingwa Local government area of the state.

The Yobe State lawmaker had during his visit to Abia asked Ikpeazu to dump PDP for APC.

Governor Ikpeazu, however, responded by saying that he is comfortable being a member of the opposition party.

10. With NIN, FG And Security Agencies Can Track Any Nigerian On The Internet – Pantami

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami has enumerated more of the advantages of the National Identification Number (NIN) enrollment embarked upon by the federal government.

The Minister highlighted that with the NIN in place, the security architecture of the country is further strengthened as the government and security agencies can track anyone who logs onto the internet.

He explained that the NIN is not only for citizens of Nigeria but also for legal residents in the country, adding that 67 million people have been captured in the process that is ongoing.

Pantami made this known while speaking at the Nigeria International Partnership Forum in Paris, France when he urged investors to take advantage of opportunities in the Nigerian economy.
