The trial of Chidinma Ojukwu over the murder of Super TV boss, Usifo Ataga has been adjourned after the defense poked some holes in the evidence supplied by the prosecution.

Naija News recalls that Ojukwu a 300 level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos with the other suspects Adebayo Quadri and Chioma Egbuchu had pleaded not guilty to the nine-count charge at the last court sitting.

The presiding judge, Justice Yetunde Adesanya adjourned the case to November 9.

At the opening of the trial in the Lagos State High Court, sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square Annex, the counsel for the second defendant, Babatunde Busari stated that the evidence made available to him by the prosecution was not legible and a video clip which was part of the evidence was not audible.

The case was subsequently adjourned to  Thursday, November 11 to give the prosecution time to make the necessary adjustment.

Ojukwu and Quadri were allegedly responsible for the planned murder of Ataga on June 15.

Ojukwu allegedly stabbed him repeatedly with a knife after which she flee the scene of the crime. She later stated that they were both under the influence and she had carried out the act in self-defence as the deceased was trying to have carnal knowledge of her without her consent.

Ojukwu’s relative, Chioma Egbuchu was also arrested after the phone of the deceased was discovered in her possession.
