The new Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Sanda Yakubu, has declared the ousted speaker, Abok Ayuba, wanted.

Naija News reports that this development comes a few hours after the Police arrested the impeached speaker along with 10 other lawmakers who supported him.

Shortly after the arrest, the new speaker declared Ayuba wanted for presiding over an illegal sitting at a community hall last week Thursday and forceful entering into the parliament on Monday.

The new speaker also announced the suspension of six members of the assembly who are loyal to the impeached speaker.

Yakubu stated that the suspended lawmakers are Henry Longs (Pankshin South), Dangtong Timothy (Riyom), Musa Agah (Rukuba/Iregwe), Bala Fwanje (Mangy South) and Nambol Listic (Langtang North).

The new speaker, however, called on security agencies to arrest Ayuba for parading a fake mace.

He said the House had set up two committees to investigate the former speaker over alleged financial misappropriation.

Naija News had earlier reported that a group of youths loyal to the impeached Speaker stormed the assembly this morning displaying placards with different inscriptions to protest the removal of the politician.

In a bid to stop the protesters from causing more chaos, security agents at the statehouse reportedly began firing shots in the air to disperse the people.

The youths, however, according to reports, stood their ground as some of them who earlier scampered for safety regrouped and resumed their singing, displaying their placards.
