Bandits Abduct Taraba Varsity Students

A relative of the former governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari, has been kidnapped by bandits.

Naija News learned Yari’s brother-in-law, Auwal Hussain, was kidnapped during an invasion of his residence in his hometown, Talata Marafa.

The criminals who came on motorcycles abducted Hussain and a neighbour on Monday night, but the news broke on Thursday evening.

According to a resident of the area, the bandits stormed the area around 11:30 pm, shooting sporadically to scare away residents.

He stated that Hussain is a brother to Yari’s first wife and lives in the former governor’s private residence before he got married.

“We heard when the bandits came in the night. They came on motorcycles and shot in the air to scare people. It was in the night around 11:30 p.m.

“The fact that bandits could come into this area considered to be the safest in Talata Mafara, which is also the second-largest town in the state, is scary. They operated for over an hour without security personnel coming to challenge them,” he said.
