SERAP Sends 'Strong Message' To AGF Malami Over Treason Charge Against Sowore

The memorial protest organised to mark the one-year anniversary of the #EndSARS protests is currently taking place at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

The founder of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore and human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju are leading the Abuja #EndSAR anniversary protest.

The #EndSARS memorial protest saw the protesters chanting anti-government songs and singing the national anthem to protest against police brutality.

Heavily armed security operatives were seen blocking the path of the procession.

Naija News reports that today marks a year Nigerian forces opened fire on peaceful #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Nigeria’s commercial city, Lagos.

The EndSARS protest is understood to be a decentralized social movement and series of mass protests against police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria.

The youths have maintained their energy to remember those murdered in last year demonstration as they remember those who lost their lives while asking for change and the end of police brutality in Nigeria.
