Anambra Govenor, Soludo Makes New Appointments [Full List]

Former Governor of the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN), Professor Charles Soludo, has been affirmed as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the upcoming Anambra governorship election.

Naija News reports that the apex court made this known in a ruling on Thursday, which was held by a five-man panel of justices.

The Supreme Court also dismissed the appeal filed by a governorship aspirant of the party, Jude Okeke, on the ground of being an abuse of the court process.

Delivering the lead judgement, Justice Mary Odili affirmed that Soludo will represent APGA in the November 6 governorship election and Victor Oye remains the National Chairman of the party.

The Supreme Court also upheld the judgment of the Court of Appeal, Kano Division, which had earlier dismissed Okeke’s suit and validated the primary election that produced Soludo.

It ruled that the Appeal Court was right to nullify a Jigawa State High Court judgement that recognised a parallel primary election that was conducted by the Jude Okeke-led faction of APGA.

The apex court, however, awarded a sum of N1 million to be paid by Okeke to APGA and Oye.

More to come…
