The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has lost two of its members in Delta State to another party.

Reports reaching Naija News on Thursday, confirmed that former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Monday Igbuya, and a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Chief Hon Solomon Edoja, have withdrawn their membership from the nation’s ruling party.

It was gathered that the two are on their way into the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

PDP chairman in the State, Kingsley Esiso, who confirmed the development in a statement delivered to newsmen through the party’s publicity secretary, Mr. Latimore Oghenesivbe, said the party is making an arrangement for a mega rally to receive the decampees.

He mentioned that the rally will hold at Sapele Township Stadium on October 23 to welcome the duo and their teeming supporters.

The statement explained that Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is expected to formally receive the decampees into the PDP fold at the event.

According to the statement, the Delta Central Chairman of PDP, Chief F. Fovie and members of his central executives in conjunction with the office of the state party Chairman, have already concluded plans to make the political event a memorable one.

Esiso also noted that “the mega rally is obviously one of the series of programmes lined up to showcase the political supremacy of PDP as the only party having a deep-rooted political relationship with the good people of Delta State, ahead of 2023 general elections.”
