A Police Station located in Ngurore of Adamawa State has come under attack by some unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.

The gunmen who came in two groups, carried out the attack on Sunday, 10th October, Naija News understands.

In executing the attack, one group focused on the security operatives in the Police Station, majorly to serve as a needed distraction for the other group which attacked a house in the area and abducted a woman identified as Hauwa Umaru and her daughter.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Adamawa State, Sulaiman Ngurore said the attack occurred around 2am on Sunday.

The Police spokesperson added that no casualty was recorded during the incident while operational assets have been deployed to recover the kidnapped persons.

“The criminals separated into two groups; one attacked the police station to divert the attention of security operatives, while the other group attacked Alhaji Umaru’s house and kidnapped his wife, Hauwa Umaru, and her daughter.

“The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Mohammed Barde, has ordered the deployment of the operational assets including Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Crack Squad and Anti-Kidnapping units to Ngurore,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, says the command will not tolerate any form of protest in the state.

Naija News reports that Odumosu made this known in a statement on Monday signed by the state Police Command’s Spokesperson, Adekunle Ajisebutu.

Ajisebutu disclosed that the command had received information of a planned protest to mark one year of the #EndSARS protest.

He warned that the police would not hesitate to use all legal means to stop the protest from taking place following the experience of the last #EndSARS protest.
